About Me

Dr. Wei “Wayne” Gui is a vitreoretinal specialist dedicated to delivering precise, compassionate care for disorders of the retina and vitreous. He manages the full spectrum of macular and retinal disease—from age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy to complex retinal detachments—using state-of-the-art diagnostics, office-based treatments, and advanced microsurgery. Patients value his calm manner, clear explanations, and team-based follow-through across clinic and operating room.

Dr. Gui graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University and earned his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine. He completed internship at Harbor-UCLA and both ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, where he received the Fellow Excellence in Research Award. Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he serves as volunteer UCLA clinical faculty and remains active in research and education.
